Dream Ahead on target for July Cup

TRAINER David Simcock has reported that Dream Ahead is in good order ahead of a possible tilt at the Darley July Cup on Saturday. The son of Diktat made a satisfying seasonal reappearance over a mile in the St James’s Palace Stakes but should be suited to the return to six furlongs. Simcock said: “I am delighted with Dream Ahead. He has sharpened up for his run at Ascot and worked really well on Saturday. “The drop in trip won’t be a problem as it looks like sprinting is his game. We are likely to declare on Thursday and see how much rain we get as we wouldn’t run if the ground is too quick.”
