AT TRILLIUM PLACE
Trillium Place
TRILLIUM PLACE is an established stable complex in the heart of Newmarket, within touching distance of some of the world's best equine training grounds. Described by the trainer as, "As good a location as you will find in Newmarket," Trillium Place is five minutes from the extensive Racecourse Side training grounds and only 15 minutes from the renowned Warren Hill exercise grounds. These are reached via the Rowley Drive horse walk to which Trillium Place has immediate access, so the horses are always safe. The town's famous training facilities are rigorously maintained by Jockey Club Estates and contain more than 50 miles of grass and artificial gallops.
The yard has two American style barns which have 40 large, well-ventilated boxes and a further 14 boxes set out in the traditional courtyard style of many of Newmarket's top stables. Furthermore five of the boxes at Trillium Place are equipped with heat lamps to bring on fillies that are behind in their coats. A covered lunge pit allows variations in the exercise regimes of the horses as well as being used in the early education of Trillium Place yearlings and two-year-olds. An outdoor trotting ring means horses can undertake light exercise and warm-up before going onto the training grounds, thereby reducing chances of injury.
Trillium Place Stables also has a large horse-walker for light exercise and bringing horses steadily back from setbacks. A large paddock area allows horses to pick grass and cool off after exercise in the summer and on-site accommodation means that staff can dedicate as much time as possible to their horses.
Revida Place
REVIDA PLACE is just a two-minute drive from Trillium Place and is located on Hamilton Road, possessing direct access to Racecourse Side training grounds. These facilities offer an excellent alternative to Bury Side, being generally quieter and flatter as well as providing a wide variation of all-weather surfaces, which some suit some horses very well. Individuals from Trillium Place and Revida Place will converge on work mornings to make use of the outstanding extensive grass gallops (Summer, Peat Moss, Across The Flat and Watered) in addition to the Cambridge Road polytrack.
Revida Place is a 2.5 acre site, consisting of 58 stables, the large majority of which are laid out in traditional courtyard formation, while a small number are within an American barn design. On-site facilities include two horse-walkers, turnout paddocks and a spacious caged sand pit. There is also a large polytrack lunge pit that’s ideal for breaking and riding away yearlings, combined with access onto the nearby Hamilton Hill training grounds.
A staff welfare building, including two flats, has recently been added to the site. This ensures that the stable is permanently manned, giving enhanced security. There is a team of ground staff at Revida Place, including a head groom, while one of the assistant trainers has extensive involvement at the yard throughout each day and David oversees the day-to-day management of the yard and watches the horses exercise.
