Dream Ahead back in town

03 October 2011

HAPPILY, Dream Ahead's return from France today proved smoother than his trainer's aborted trip to Paris some 24 hours earlier. David Simcock found himself stymied at Ebbsfleet as his scheduled train journey faild to materialise. Thankfully, Dream Ahead experienced no traffic problems in his head defeat of supermare Goldikova in the Group 1 Prix de la Foret at Longchamp. And by the looks of things this afternoon, neither that race or his subsequent journey home have left any sort of mark. Mean, moody and majestic he looked in his box at 5pm this afternoon. A toned and imperious equine athlete. As the late summer sun beat down, Trillium Place wore a satisfied smile as everyone basked in the glory of a job well done by them and their stable star. Simcock said: "Dream Ahead raced as well as he has ever done yesterday. It was a lifetime best for the horse - certainly, that's how Timeform saw it. They gave it as a lifetime best, 4lb higher than his win in the Middle Park Stakes (his previous best figure). "It is still undecided if he will run again. That is a decision for his new connections. It is highly doubtful that he will stay in training next year, but it's totally their call. "I feel like we owe the horse an awful lot. He has had some very special days."
