Dream Ahead retires to stud

20 October 2011

DREAM Ahead has run his last race and will be retired to stand at Ballylinch Stud in Ireland. Next month Khalifa Dasmal’s multiple Group 1 winner will be crowned European Champion Sprinter following his wins this season in the July Cup, the Haydock Sprint Cup and earlier this month when he claimed the scalp of super-mare Goldikova in the Prix de la Foret. It must not be forgotten that Dream Ahead also shared the title of 2010’s top-rated two-year-old with Frankel on the back of his victory in the Prix Morny and a nine-length romp in the Middle Park Stakes. Dream Ahead’s departure will leave a void at Trillium Place but David and all the staff wish him every success in his new career and will they will search for a new star. David said: “He's been a star right from day one and has been a joy to train. “He is the soundest and most straightforward horse you could wish to find and I will be lucky if I can find another horse like him. “His performance in the Middle Park was outstanding, when he beat good horses like Strong Suit and Approve by an easy nine lengths. “He's a great looking horse with a fantastic temperament and I am sure he will be very successful at stud. I wish his new owners the very best of luck with him.”
