Wolverhampton double

09 December 2013

RAINFORD Glory and Modernism provided the Trillium Place team and Dr Marwan Koukash with a double at Wolverhampton on Monday afternoon.

The former returned from a long lay-off to win a 1m4f handicap under Martin Harley. A son of Rock Of Gibraltar, Rainford Glory was last seen on a racecourse in May but fitness wasn't an issue this afternoon as he showed a tremendous attitude to hold off the short-priced favourite Tracks Of My Tears.
Harley was always prominent on the 7/1 chance before seizing the lead with two furlongs to run.
He was joined by the favourite deep inside the final furlong but battled gamely to pass the post a short-head in front.
An hour later it was the turn of Modernism who recorded back-to-back successes when taking a nine furlong handicap.
Harley did the steering again and his mount did well to carry top-weight to victory by a neck.
