Apostle toughs it out at Wolves

APOSTLE returned to the winners’ circle with a game success in a seven-furlong handicap at Wolverhampton yesterday evening.

The Dr Marwan Koukash-owned gelding set the early fractions under Jamie Spencer before being headed by Clockmaker after two furlongs.

Spencer was content to take a lead and Apostle travelled strongly. He regained the lead with two furlongs to run and went in pursuit of home.

Georgian Bay was finishing fast but the line came in time for Apostle and he held on by a nose.
