Castilo Del Diablo lands Lingfield feature

The son of Teofilo had run well in defeat in recent starts and deserved to get his head in front again.

The 1m4f contest was run at a steady gallop and jockey Jamie Spencer settled Castilo Del Diablo in the midfield on the inside.

The gaps opened running down the hill and he swept through to take the lead over a furlong from home.

Modernstone finished fast and late but Castilo Del Diablo stuck his neck out gamely to win by a neck.

The five-year-old was completing a double for the team following Fractal’s earlier success in the 1m2f maiden.

The son of High Chaparral, a 20/1 shot, showed improved form to win by a neck under Martin Lane.
