Noble Citizen doubles up
20 January 2014
THE relentless flurry of winners continued for trainer David Simcock this afternoon – thanks to Noble Citizen.
Hot on the heels of last week’s victory charge (seven in six days), the evergreen nine-year-old stormed to a four-length win at Southwell.
It was the gelding’s second success inside a week after previously going two-and-a-half years without getting his head in front.
Like the proverbial London buses: you wait an age for one, then two turn up in quick succession!
Ridden by 7lb claimer George Buckell in the mile handicap, Noble Citizen was soon in touch with the early leader The Lock Master.
Simcock’s 2/1 shot took charge approaching the furlong pole and powered clear for an emphatic triumph – the sixth of his career.
