Breton Rock makes winning return
12 April 2014
BRETON Rock got his 2014 campaign off to the best possible start with a gutsy success in a seven-furlong conditions event at Thirsk this afternoon.
The son of Bahamian Bounty had a terrific 2013 which culminated in a victory on Champions Day in the Apprentice handicap.
Jockey Martin Lane soon had Breton Rock in a good position, tracking the leader Kenny Powers.
He picked up well as they entered the closing stages, hitting the front before surging clear to win by over a length.
A delighted Lane said: "He was a useful and progressive horse last season and it's great that he has started this season with a win."
