Windsor one-two for Trillium Place

CAFÉ Society lead home Modernism for a Trillium Place one-two in the 1m4f handicap at Windsor on Monday evening.

Café Society, a son of Motivator, had some strong form in the book and deserved to get his head back in front again.

Modernism cut out the early running under Andrea Atzeni with jockey Jim Crowley settling Café Society in the midfield.

Andrea kicked for home with three furlongs to go but Jim hadn’t moved a muscle and eased Café Society into the lead at the furlong marker.

Modernism stuck gamely to the task but Café Society was too good and went on to win by two and a quarter lengths.

David said: “He deserved that as he competed in some tough races last year. He has settled down and I was surprised Jamie (Spencer) said he took a blow at Newmarket and just needed that first run back.

“He will go for one of the two handicaps - Wolferton or Duke of Edinburgh (at Royal Ascot).”
