GABRIAL'S King put up a decent display to land a 2m handicap at York on Saturday afternoon.

Dr Marwan Koukash's gelding was down in grade having run in the Ascot Stakes at Royal Ascot on his last start.

 
He was held up at the rear of the field by Danny Tudhope, travelling strongly in a decent-run race.

 
Tudhope began to edge closer with three furlongs to run, getting into contention as they approached the closing stages.






 





He hit the front close home, going on to beat Knightly Escapade by a neck.
