Momentus off the mark

The daughter of Montjeu has been highly tried this season, finishing a close third in the Lingfield Oaks Trial before contesting the Oaks itself.


She has had little trouble getting off the mark today, making all the running under a confident Fergus Sweeney.


Sweeney set an even tempo before he upped the pace on entering the straight. Momentus soon had her rivals in trouble and stretched further clear as they approached the closing stages, winning by nearly five lengths.
