Fractal makes winning return

01 September 2014

FRACTAL had been off the track since his maiden win at Lingfield in January, but there were few signs of rustiness as his comeback run resulted in victory at Leicester this afternoon.
The High Chaparral gelding landed a handicap over almost a mile and a half, surging through the final strides to strike in the hands of rider Martin Lane.
Trainer David Simcock's charge was sent off the 11/4 second favourite and gently needed to be reminded of his business early on by Lane.
But Fractal was full of running when it really started to count and hit the front with over a furlong to travel.
If anything, he was getting better the further he went and hit the line strongly to score by two lengths from the favourite Moshe.
