TRAINER David Simcock is once again set to target the Dubai World Cup Carnival.
Trillium Place has enjoyed a string of high-profile victories in the desert in recent seasons and Simcock is hoping for fresh glories there over the coming three months.
He plans to send up to nine horses to compete at Meydan, including Group-race stars Trade Storm, Sheikhzayedroad and Caspar Netscher.
His Carnival contenders will be staggered in terms of departure times, with the first trio due to ship later this week.
David said: “On Friday we send Beyond Empire, Horsted Keynes and Padlock and we will run them ‘off the plane’ the following Thursday.
“Horsted Keynes will run over a mile and should enjoy the conditions – the fast ground and the flat track.
“Beyond Empire is a straightforward sort of horse and runs over 10 furlongs. He doesn’t show an awful lot of speed but should be very suited to the dirt.
“Padlock will run first in a seven-furlong conditions race. He goes there in good order, acted at Southwell really well and I don’t think the surface will be a problem.”
“We’ve got two more to go the week after – Victoria Regina and Calling Out.
“The plan is for Victoria Regina to run in the Group 2 Cape Verdi (January 29) and the Balanchine.
“Calling Out is a horse who had very useful form at a high level in France. He has settled in well and I’m looking forward to running him in Dubai. The race we have in mind is the Listed Dubai Millennium over a mile and a quarter.
“Sheikhzayedroad, Trade Storm and Caspar Netscher will all be going in March."
Glass Office may possibly also head out in March. Highlighting the ever-growing profile of the Dubai Carnival, David added: "It has become an important part of our season now."
