TRAINER David Simcock sent out another big-priced winner this afternoon as debutante filly Bateel struck at odds of 33/1 at Salisbury.
Just 24 hours after Glass Office delivered a 40/1 shock in Group 2 company at York, it was Bateel's turn - albeit in maiden company.
The Dubawi filly, owned by Al Asayl Bloodstock, came with a stirring late run to score in a photo finish from Twitch.
Jockey Martin Lane bided his time on Bateel, who was slowly away in the mile and a quarter race.
But there was nothing slow about the way she finished, powering through the closing stages to get up and win by a nose.
