Double delight at Chepstow

01 September 2015

TRAINER David Simcock was in double form at Chepstow yesterday, thanks to Chinoiseries and Starboard.

The brace of winners meant Trillium Place had struck four times from 10 runners in the last week.

Chinoiseries, owned by Kirsten Rausing, made a perfect start to her racing career as she landed a mile maiden for fillies.

The daughter of Archipenko had no problem with the soft underfoot conditions, scoring by a length for jockey Fergus Sweeney.

Less than two hours after that 100/30 success, it was the turn of Starboard to do the business in a mile handicap.

The six-year-old, owned by Khalifa Dasmal, rewarded connections' patience with an emphatic display.

He came home with almost four lengths to spare for his first victory since September, 2012.

Starboard was returned at odds of 5/1 and, again, Sweeney was the victorious rider.
