Doncaster double, success at Lingfield too

14 September 2015

THE Trillium Place team remains in belting form, recording a victory double at Doncaster's St Leger meeting and also firing in another winner at Lingfield.
On Friday, Curbyourenthusiasm returned to winning ways by landing an extended 14-furlong handicap, worth £40,000.
Jamie Spencer gave the four-year-old a well-judged hold-up ride, coming to master Noble Silk a furlong from home before comfortably holding the late challenge of Battersea.
Curbyourenthusiasm was returned the 7/1 winner and the margin of his success was a length and a quarter.
It was a third triumph of the year for the Mastercraftsman gelding, owned by messrs Caine and Barnett.
There was more joy on Town Moor on Leger day for trainer David Simcock as Captain Morley justified strong market support in the mile and a half handicap.
He won like a 2/1 favourite should, coming from last to first in the hands of jockey Andrea Atzeni and strode out to strike by four lengths.
The Hernando gelding, owned by Qatar Racing, has now three career wins to his name.
On the same card, there was a strong run by Breton Rock in the Group 2, staged over seven furlongs. While Limato proved an impressive winner, Simcock's charge performed with credit to take third spot.
Over at Lingfield, Can't Change I't have been much more impressive in claiming the spoils in a seven-furlong handicap.
Jockey Jim Crowley always had the Fitri-Hay owned four-year-old in touch and he asserted with minimum fuss in the closing stages, going on to score by almost four lengths.
It provided a welcome return for him to the winner's enclosure for the first time since last summer.
