It's three and easy for Bateel

20 September 2015

BATEEL retained her unbeaten record with a third straight career victory yesterday at Newmarket.

The Dubawi filly, owned by Al Asayl Bloodstock, was a confident winner of a mile and a half handicap.
She followed triumphs at Salisbury and Goodwood with a hat-trick success by  two and three quarter lengths.
Jockey Jamie Spencer held her up from the gates and she only began her challenge in earnest approaching the final quarter mile.
Bateel cruised up to collar the eventual runner-up Twitch with a furlong to go and then ran on well to seal the deal for trainer David Simcock.
It completed a double on the day for Trillium Place after The Corsican won the Group 3 Arc Trial at Newbury.
David is enjoying a rich vein of form and the brace meant it's five winners from his last nine runners.
