It's a treble at Chelmsford
26 September 2015
IT was a memorable evening for the Trillium Place team at Chelmsford on Saturday with Dragon Mall, Doctor Sardonicus and Majeed all hitting the target.
Dragon Mall, a son of US stallion Blame, recorded a first career win in the mile conditions race worth £24,000 to the winner. Mohammed Jaber's colt was second in a good maiden at Doncaster last time out and improved again to win impressively under Jamie Spencer. It was a course record time.
Spencer then made all to take the five furlong handicap aboard Doctor Sardonicus. Owned by Charles Wentworth, Doctor Sardonicus was third from a poor draw at the same track last time out and never saw another rival this time, winning by a length and quarter.
It was back to hold-up tactics for Spencer on Majeed, who came from near the rear to take the 1m2f handicap. The Mount Nelson five-year-old was winning for the fourth time this season and this was arguably his most impressive victory to date.
