Trade causes a ‘Storm’ at York

23 August 2012

TRADE STORM swooped late to win the valuable mile handicap at York this afternoon. The son of Trade Fair has been running well this season including last time out when he finished second in the Shergar Cup Mile at Ascot. The race went smoothly today and Jamie Spencer was able to settle Trade Storm towards the rear. The early gallop was strong but Jamie crept into the race, making his challenge full of running with a furlong left to run. He surged into the lead and was always holding Strictly Silver to win by a length and a quarter. Jamie said: “He’s a huge horse so hopefully he’s still improving. We knew he was in good form and the good even gallop has suited him. “David told me to challenge late with him and the way it panned out, I was able to.”
