Algometer triumphs at Newbury

23 October 2015

ALGOMETER got off the mark on his second career start, taking a mile maiden at Newbury.

Trainer David Simcock's charge improved on his debut fourth at Goodwood as he justified 11/4 favouritism for jockey Sean Levey.
It was a polished performance by the Archipenko colt who  was prominent from the start.
The Trillium Place runner took it up from three furlongs out and sustained a strong gallop right to the line.
Victory Bond threw down a late challenge but Miss Kirsten Rausing's Algometer stuck at it well to score by three parts of a length.
