Saturday joy for Trillium!

DESERT Encounter showed he continues to go the right way with a hard-fought success at Newmarket.

The Halling gelding completed a hat-trick by landing a £30,000 mile and six-furlong handicap.

It followed successes at Musselburgh and Doncaster – both of which came at 12 furlongs.

This latest triumph saw jockey Jamie Spencer pull out all the stops late on to secure a short-head victory.

There was more joy for Trillium Place later in the afternoon with Goldmember taking a Thirsk maiden in good style.

The New Approach colt made light work of his rivals in scoring by five lengths on his third career start.
