TRILLIUM Place is sad to report that The Corsican met with an accident on the gallops this morning and has had to be put down.
The five-year-old, owned by Mrs Fitri Hay, was a high-class horse who had won at both Group 3 and Listed level. He also finished fourth in last year’s renewal of the Group 1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Trainer David Simcock said: “The Corsican was a very talented horse, whom I felt the best was still to come from.
“He will be greatly missed by the team at Trillium Place and our sympathies go out to his owners.”
