GEORGE Buckell, apprentice jockey at Trillium Place, has enjoyed a winning weekend for trainer David Simcock.
The 5lb claimer recorded a win on both Friday and Saturday evenings at Wolverhampton and Chemsford, respectively.
Buckell landed the odds on Rubensian in a mile and a half handicap at Wolves. The contest was never in doubt in the closing stages as the 8/11 shot - owned by Roger and Yvonne Allsop - scored by an emphatic six lengths.
Buckell couldn't call on his claim in an apprentices' handicap at Chelmsford this evening - but he didn't need it.
He gave a very polished display aboard the Tick Tock Partnership's Unsuspected Girl in a mile and a quarter race.
Buckell bought her with a well-timed challenge and the pair had a length and a half in hand as they hit the line for a 4/1 triumph.
