2016 'Personal Best' for Trillium

TRAINER David Simcock recorded a personal best of 85 winners for a calendar year thanks to Adalene's win at Newcastle yesterday afternoon.

It surpassed the total of 84 achieved in 2014. The 85-tally comes at the end of a year in which the stable also registered record prize money.

The three year old filly Adalene, by Makfi out of Marine Bleue, is owned by Qatar Racing Ltd and had been placed second in each of her last three races.

Yesterday she went one better, going away from the rest of the field under Tom Eaves to win by six lengths in the Betway Maiden Stakes over 1m2f.

Trainer David Simcock said: "We are thrilled the stable has reached its highest number of winners for a year. The achievement is down to a huge amount of work from each and ever member of the team."
