TRILLIUM Place wasted little time in opening its account for the New Year with Auberge Du Lac scoring in a maiden over an extended mile at Wolverhampton this afternoon.
The three year old colt, by Lope De Vega out of Red Kyte, is owned by Jos and Jane Rodosthenous who were in attendance to share his success - as was trainer David Simcock.
Jockey Adam Kirby sat handily and asked for an effort on Auberge Du Lac as the field came out of the bend.
The market favourite responded effectively to move to the front with around a furlong to travel and then stayed on well to win by two lengths.
It followed a second-place finish at Chelmsford three days before Christmas and showed that Auberge Du Lac is on a pleasing upward curve.
