Veena wins gamely

23 February 2017

FOUR-year-old filly Veena made it two wins from three starts in 2017 by winning the six furlong fillies handicap at Chelmsford City Racecourse this afternoon.
From the break she was tucked in behind the leading horses by jockey Jamie Spencer, tracking them to the two furlong marker.
Veena responded when asked and despite the blustery conditions made progress through a gap between the leading pair, heading the field entering the final furlong and battling on gamely to win by a head.
The filly, by Elusive City (USA) out of Kensita (FR), was achieving her third victory for trainer David Simcock and owners Chola Dynasty.
