Hugin flies home

19 May 2017

HUGIN made a very promising start for trainer David Simcock, convincingly winning the seven furlong median auction maiden stakes (class 4) at Newcastle this evening.
Having his first start since moving from Ireland, the three-year-old gelding broke well and was settled-in to track the leading pair by jockey Jamie Spencer.
The pace quickened two furlongs from home and approaching the one furlong marker Spencer asked Hugin to go and win the race, which he readily did, with and impressive burst of speed and then staying on well to win by three and one quarter lengths.
By Henrythenavigator (USA) out of Silver Star (GB), Hugin is owned by Mr Steffen Norris.
