The ‘Duke’ wins again

GABRIAL The Duke secured his third win of the season when landing a 1m2f handicap at Lingfield this afternoon. Both his previous wins had come at the same track in February and he has since been second to two progressive types earlier this month. Jamie Spencer made no mistake this afternoon, establishing a lead on the 4/6 favourite as soon as they left the stalls. He set a decent tempo and many of his rivals were feeling the pinch at halfway. Rounding the final bend, Spencer had the race in the bag but he kept Gabrial The Duke up to his work and he went on to score by a length and a quarter.
