Dream set for Deauville date

06 August 2011

DREAM Ahead heads to Deaville on Sunday where he will contest the Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest. The son of Diktat, who took the July Cup on his last racecourse outing, returns to the scene of his first Group 1 triumph in the Prix Morny a year ago. Trainer David Simcock has been pleased with his condition since his emphatic success and is hopeful of gaining a fourth Group 1 prize. He said "He's in good order. He's trained very well from the July Cup until now. Everything has gone very smoothly and I'm really looking forward to running him. "He's always been a horse with lots of ability. Physically he looks fantastic. That's where the improvement has been over the winter and up to now. "I'd be very happy if he ran up to 126 and if he continued to run to that mark all year, he'd take a lot of beating." Dream Ahead is reunited with jockey Willam Buick and faces a field which includes Golden Jubilee winner Society Rock and Group 1 winner Zoffany.
