Silchester delivers on debut
06 February 2018
SILCHESTER made his first racecourse visit an extremely promising one by winning the one mile Novice Stakes at Southwell impressively this afternoon.
Jockey Joe Fanning settled Silchester quickly from the break and tracked the leaders, in close order throughout. From the three furlong marker, Silchester was angled out and given daylight allowing him to commence a challenge from two furlongs out. He took the lead over one furlong out and went on comfortably to win by three lengths.
A three-year-old chestnut colt, by Bellamy Road (USA) out of Looks Like Rain (GB), Silchester is trained by David Simcock for Never Say Die Partnership.
