Majeed holds on

Khalifa Dasmal’s colours were carried to victory by Martin Lane aboard Majeed at Wolverhampton on Monday afternoon. Majeed, a son of Mount Nelson, was having his second career start in the nine-furlong maiden. He had shown promise in his debut last autumn and stepped up on that to win, showing a good attitude. Lane had tracked the leader before striking for home with three furlongs left to run. Majeed had idled in front but had enough up his sleeve to hold the fast-finishing The Welsh Wizard by half a length.
