Third victory for Maverick Officer

MAVERICK OFFICER scored his third racecourse victory by taking the one mile class three handicap at Great Yarmouth this afternoon under Jamie Spencer.
 
He was held up at the rear of the field from the off and waited patiently until closing to track the leaders over one furlong out.  Spencer switched the three-year-old gelding right and asked for effort entering the final furlong and Maverick Officer duly obliged to quicken under hands and heels, taking the lead well inside the final furlong and going on to win by one and a quarter lengths.
