Flying start to 2020!

UNIVERSAL Order gave trainer David Simcock the perfect start to 2020 – a victory with his first runner.

The four-year-old gelding delivered a smooth success in a Listed race on the opening card of the Dubai World Cup Carnival.

He gave a career-best performance in winning a mile and a half contest by a length and a half in the hands of jockey Richard Mullen.

Universal Order was held up at the rear of the 12-runner field before making good progress from around three furlongs out.

The Simcock representative loomed up in the closing stages and surged past the leader Pablo Escobar with less than a furlong to run.

Abdulla Al Mansoori’s horse saw out the race in stirring fashion and was in full command as he hit the line.
