More success in Dubai

06 February 2020

WOVEN gave trainer David Simcock his second winner at this year’s Dubai World Cup Carnival with victory in an ultra-competitive handicap today.
The four-year-old, stepped back up in trip to seven furlongs, gave a superb display at Meydan in the hands of jockey Harry Bentley.

He travelled smoothly into the race before building a sustained challenge from the quarter-mile post.
Woven, carrying the colours of the Never Say Die Partnership,  grabbed the lead with over a furlong to run and held strong through the closing strides as the finishers came at him.
He won by a head – his second career triumph – and followed in the hoof-prints of stable-mate Universal Order, who was victorious last month in Dubai.
The win maintains the excellent start to the year, home and abroad, made by Simcock-trained horses.
