RODRIGO DIAZ scored his first win by taking the 1m4f Handicap at Lingfield Park this afternoon, on his fourth racecourse visit, giving jockey Jamie Spencer his first victory since returning from injury.
He was settled towards the rear of midfield until making headway over two furlongs out. Then pushed along to challenge over one furlong out, Rodrigo Diaz soon took the lead, running on well to go clear and win by two and three quarter lengths. The four-year-old gelding, by Golden Horn GB out of Kitty Wells GB, is trained by David Simcock for Quantum Leap Racing XI and Partner.
