River Wharfe gets off the mark

RIVER WHARFE scored a first career victory this afternoon in taking the seven furlong Nursery Handicap at Chelmsford under Jamie Spencer.
The two-year-old colt was ridden prominently from the off, disputing the lead and second until headed and dropping back to track the leaders from three furlongs out. He was ridden and made headway to take the lead over one furlong out and kept on in the final furlong to win by a head. By Showcasing GB out of Wahylah IRE.
