Four declared at Meydan tomorrow

TRILLIUM Place will be represented by four runners on tomorrow’s card at Meydan, Dubai. First up is Ahmad Al Shaikh’s Ottoman Empire, who lines up in the opening 1m2f handicap. The son of Pivotal has run well on both his starts at the carnival this year and he looks to have a leading chance in an open contest. Simcock said: "Ottoman Empire is drawn well, one of 16. He handles the tapeta pretty well and it's a race that could just suit him." Impressive Lingfield winner Stasio lines up in the second race, the Classic Trial over seven furlongs. The son of Street Boss showed a good turn of foot when taking a novice race in November but he will have to overcome a wide draw to win tomorrow. His trainer added: "Stasio's draw is far from ideal for an inexperienced horse around there. But his training has been good and William Buick is booked to ride. “Even though he is drawn badly, we are looking for him to run a nice first race of the year, although his main objectives are later on in the Carnival." Go Angelllica has been declared for the Listed UAE 1000 Guineas. Ahmed Jaber’s filly won a Listed race last summer and she will break from a good stall in five. Simock said: "Go Angellica had a lack of appetite for the first few days she was in Dubai but she soon settled into her training and routine and is very relaxed . "We would have liked to have had a prep race before the Guineas, although we think she will run okay on Thursday. We feel she will be seen in a better light in the UAE Oaks as that (additional) trip will suit her." A field of 10 head to post, headed by recent trial winner, Music Chart and Mark Johnston’s Listed winner Pure Excellence. The final runner on the card will be Red Duke, who tackles the concluding mile handicap. The son of Hard Spun should come on for his debut effort last month as that was his first run over four months. “The main objective with Red Duke is for him to improve on his first outing - the surface is one he acts quite well on.” His trainer said.
