First win for Carrothers

CARROTHERS got off the mark with his first win this afternoon at Southwell taking the seven furlong Novice Stakes under Jamie Spencer.
From a steady start the two-year-old colt, having only his second outing, was switched right and moved up to be in touch with the leaders at halfway. He was close up three furlongs out and challenged from two furlongs out, ridden to lead over one furlong out and kept on well to win by one and three-quarter lengths.By Mshawish USA out of Queenofperfection USA, Carrothers is trained by David Simcock for Sahara Thouroughbreds.
