Victory for Desert Friend

IT was very pleasing to see Desert Friend secure his first win for the yard this evening, taking the two mile and half furlong handicap at Wolverhampton under Louis Steward.
The five-year-old gelding was held up at the rear of the field until making headway after five furlongs, then moved into third place over three furlongs out, pressed the leader over two furlongs out and took the lead over one furlong out and kept on well to win by a neck.By Universal IRE, out of Assabiyya IRE, Desert Friend is trained by David Simcock for Abdullah Menahi.
