GABRIALThe King managed to weave his way to the front in a slight messy run, Apprentice Handicap at Newbury this afternoon.
He was having his first start for the Simcock yard and under Alice Haynes became a little boxed in after a slowly run race.
He was switched wide for his effort which then took an exaggerated course to the middle of the track before diving back towards the rail, however he had sufficient in hand to still end up on top at the finish. He has a host of entries in the forthcoming week so will be an interesting runner to follow again.
