Maktoob wins on debut

MAKTOOB delivered success on his first racecourse visit when taking the one mile and one and a half furlong Novice Stakes at Wolverhampton this afternoon, under Shane Kelly.
The three-year-old gelding was held up in midfield until pushed along over three furlongs out, made headway over two furlongs out and was ridden to lead inside the final half furlong and win by a length.By Awtaad IRE out of Mudawanah GB, Maktoob is trained by David Simcock for Joe Soiza and Partners.
