Impressive debut win for Empress Wu

TWO-YEAR-OLD filly Empress Wu made an impressive start to her career in taking the one mile and two furlongs Maiden Stakes in fine style under Jim Crowley at Lingfield Park this afternoon.
The daughter of Chinoiseries GB (Archipenko USA) by Sea The Moon GER was steadied from the off and settled towards the rear of the field, made headway in the home turn, was then switched right over one furlong out and made rapid headway to lead and win, going away, by two and a quarter lengths. Empress Wu is trained by David Simcock for owner/breeder Miss K Rausing.
