Warrior on top at York

25 May 2013

WHISPERING Warrior made it four wins from his last five starts when taking a ten-furlong handicap at York on Saturday afternoon (May 26.)

The son of Oasis Dream won three times on the all-weather this winter and showed that he is still on an upward curve with a convincing success in the hands of amateur Mr Phil Collington.

Whispering Warrior was towards the rear in the early stages but Collington always had him in a good rhythm.

Trainer David Simcock's charge made headway as the entered the straight and by the two-furlong pole had the leaders in his sights.

Collington switched into the clear and Whispering Warrior responded well to pressure to take over the lead inside the final furlong and go on to win by nearly three lengths.
