OPTIK scored his fourth success of the year when taking the one mile and two furlongs Apprentice Handicap at Chelmsford this afternoon under former stable apprentice George Bass.
The four-year-old gelding was held up towards the rear of the field until pushed along to make headway from over two furlongs out, was then ridden over one furlong out and took the lead inside the final furlong, going clear to win by one and three-quarter lengths.By Expert Eye GB out of Sliabh Luachra IRE, Optik is trained by David Simcock for John Cook and Partner.
