The son of Rail Link had a fruitful 2012 and looks set for even better things this season.


He was settled at the rear by Jamie Spencer, racing enthusiastically in what was a slowly run race.


Jamie got to work with three furlongs to run and Montaser ran on to lead with the furlong marker in sight.

From that moment on victory was never in doubt and Montaser was pushed out under hands and heels to win by a length.

David said: "He was a bit fresh today. He's quite speedy, we could drop him back in trip but I'd say we may go for the Northumberland Plate."
