Big day beckons for Dream Ahead

30 September 2011

DREAM Ahead takes on the mighty Goldikova on Sunday in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp. Trainer David Simcock's stable star will be bidding to land a fifth Group 1 crown, while the French superstar is sent in search of an incredible 15th win at the top level. Dream Ahead heads across the English Channel in fine fettle off the back of his thrilling win in the Haydock Sprint Cup. That was over six furlongs and he steps up to seven this weekend on ground that may be a shade quicker than ideal. Simcock said: "As long as it's safe ground I have no issues and I can't believe it won't be safe. "Dream Ahead's preparations have been very straightforward - he has been good since his last run. It's been very routine exercise for him and what work he has done, he has done very well. "So he goes to France in good order. We wanted to keep him in Group 1 company, that's why he doesn't go to Ascot (for a Group 2 on British Champions Day, October 15). "I hope he will run a very nice race on Sunday, although we know that Goldikova will be very difficult to beat."
