The son of Pulpit tracked the leaders in the early stages in the hands of the in-form Martin Lane.

He struck the front at the two furlong pole and soon galloped clear to win by eight lengths.

David said: “We´ve got 13 days to run him under a penalty, and if he´s in the mood another 6lb is irrelevant. He loves fast ground and he loves a right-handed track.”
