Catterick double for Trillium Place

17 July 2013

GABRIAL The Duke and Gucci D'Oro provided the Trillium Place team with a double at Catterick on Wednesday afternoon.

The former returned to winning ways with an impressive success in a 1m4f handicap at Catterick this afternoon.

The son of Duke of Marmalade has struggled in recent starts having enjoyed a profitable spell over the winter which yielded three wins and two seconds.

His victory today proved that he is equally as effective on turf and that he has returned to top form.
He was settled in the midfield by Franny Norton before getting a dream run up the inside with three furlongs to run.
He took over the running at the two furlong marker and stayed on strongly to win by a length and a half.
It was the stuff of fairytales for amateur Alex Ferguson as he steered Gucci D'Oro to success in the 1m4f amateur riders race, his first ever ride.
Alex came with a late run on the 17/2 chance and he ran out a ready winner by four and a half lengths.
